I absolutely love felting. It's a fascinating technique producing fabulous designs. I am inspired by everything around me and I try to translate them into new designs. The procedure relaxes me completely and provides me with a feeling of calmness and fulfilment. The technique I mostly love is
the japanese nuno felting. Nuno felting combines wool with pure silk. The silk fibre is the base which I create the unwoven wool design on. With this technique the wool fibres enter the silk weaving and, as the wool shrinks during the nuno procedure, they drag along the silk, and so the wool sticks on the fibre and becomes one body with it. At the end pleats are created in the silk where wool nests in.
